5 Tips for Getting the Most out of Instagram
Instagram has all but taken center stage in today’s social media world. Yes, Facebook has more users, but are they slowly jumping ship to Instagram? If they’re not jumping ship, there’s definitely reason to believe that many are focused on building their businesses through Instagram more than Facebook these days. If you’re loving Instagram like we are, find 5 tips to marketing on Instagram in 2018 below!.
Add a “Squeeze Page” Link in your Profile
Instead of linking your website’s home page URL, consider linking to a “squeeze page.” A squeeze page is a page on your site where visitors can obtain free value by providing their contact information. This free value can come in the form of an e-book or a newsletter, which would give the visitor free information about what they’re interested in.
Post 1-2 Times a Day
Research has shown that the most successful brands and businesses on Instagram post between 1-2 times a day. There are exceptions of course. On average, you should consider posting a maximum of 2 times a day for optimal audience engagement. The best times to post would be between 8:00am and 9:00am, with your second post coming at around 2:00am. Hootsuite is a great software to help you manage your Instagram profile as well as many other social media platforms.
Use your Audience’s Content
Using your audience’s picture content is a great strategy. Not only will it promote engagement, it will show credibility. Let’s take GoPro for example. GoPro’s Instagram feed is full of enticing user photos and videos. Nothing sells the product like seeing it in action through actual users.
More Faces, Less Spaces
In research done by Georgia Tech University, Instagram posts that have faces in them garner 38% more likes and 32% more comments than any other picture format. Consider posting more faces and less places. This especially rings true if you are a personal brand or a public figure.
Change your profile to match your other social media profiles. If you’re a business or a brand, you need to be consistent, therefore easy to find. If someone is following you on Twitter and now they want to engage with you on Instagram, having the same profile picture and/or tagline will make it evident that you are the same company that they are following elsewhere.
